Hamilton Centre Youth Council - Logo Design
Recently I have been volunteering as part of Matthew Green’s youth council. I joined the group because I am politically active and I wanted to learn about what real steps to take to create change. This has also been an opportunity to offer my skills and services to help with something I feel is very important. Educating and mobilizing the youth. I created the logo and am now a part of the outreach and communications subcommittee.
Takeaway
Since this was a logo for a group without a specific vision or something they felt strongly about I was met with resounding yes' and praise for anything I did. This proved difficult as usually clients are much more picky and have preferences which aids in narrowing down ideas and then being able to further refine them. Instead, I had to take the lead, make decisions for them, and push the logo myself without any guidance, comments or critiques from them. Navigating this situation gave me a unique way of thinking about a project and working on it that in certain situations could prove useful.
